Dan’s role is to lead and co-ordinate the advocacy service. He undertakes initial assessments of clients. Dan supports volunteers by providing professional supervision and facilitating a peer support network. He is responsible for the recruitment, induction and training of volunteer advocates.

Dan joined OCAY in 2016. His background is in Mental Health and General Advocacy.

Amanda Potts

Amanda is our part time Advocate, supporting Dan with complex cases.

She has previously worked for Citizens Advice, the Multiple Sclerosis Society, JRF and most recently York Energy Advice. She is really committed to people being helped to get their voices heard and feel that older people especially can find themselves ignored and excluded.

Amanda recently joined the team in December 2023.

Claire Richardson

Claire’s role is to provide support for the charity and to ensure the smooth operation of the service.

Claire joined OCAY in March 2024 as an Administrator, bringing with her a background of finance and customer support.

We would like to say a sad farewell & huge thanks to our Operations Manager Abi. Her hard work & contribution to OCAY has been invaluable. She will be greatly missed, but will be remaining as a fundraising volunteer. We wish her luck in all her future endeavours.
