Dan’s role is to lead and co-ordinate the advocacy service. He undertakes initial assessments of clients. Dan supports volunteers by providing professional supervision and facilitating a peer support network. He is responsible for the recruitment, induction and training of volunteer advocates.
Dan joined OCAY in 2016. His background is in Mental Health and General Advocacy.
Amanda is our part time Advocate, supporting Dan with complex cases.
She has previously worked for Citizens Advice, the Multiple Sclerosis Society, JRF and most recently York Energy Advice. She is really committed to people being helped to get their voices heard and feel that older people especially can find themselves ignored and excluded.
Amanda recently joined the team in December 2023.
Danni GordonAdministrative Assistant
Danni’s role is to provide the best support for the charity as a whole to ensure the smooth operation of the service.
“With my background in finance and marketing and some good organisation skill, I’m looking forward to adding to a small but strong team and gain some deeper understanding of the Charity sector along with the growing needs of the older community in York.”
Abi WillisOperations Manager
Abi’s role is to lead and co-ordinate the running of the charity, ensuring a high quality of provision for its users, and maintaining a continuous improvement focus.
Abi joined OCAY as an administrator in 2021 and has a background in finance, insurance and charity administration.
“After working with the Family Fund for disabled children, I wanted to branch out and help people in my own age bracket and older.”
