Ruth’s role is to lead the work of the charity and community outreach, working with volunteers, Trustees and other staff to implement OCAY’s strategic plan.
She also works to contact potential clients and ensure that organisations which have contact with older people, know about the work of OCAY.
She previously managed York Wheels and is experienced in working with older people.
Dan Brittan
Dan BrittanLead Advocate
Dan’s role is to undertake both general and specialised advocacy with clients, including many of the initial contact meetings. Dan also supports volunteers by providing professional supervision and facilitating a peer support network.
Dan joined OCAY in 2016. His background is in Mental Health and General Advocacy and he has worked for York Mind.
Dan is a keen runner and recently completed the Run for All 10k on behalf of OCAY.
Kayleigh Fox
Kayleigh FoxCharity Support Assistant
Kayleigh’s role is to be the first line of contact for OCAY. She provides the day to day administrative, financial and business support for OCAY. Kayleigh has previously worked as a laboratory assistant at the University of York and as an administrative assistant but has always wanted to work with and help older people. She has a very close relationship with her grandparents and spends a lot of time with them.
